delivery was very quick. when it stays connected everything is fine. the connection gets dropped every 10 minutes some days, and remains connected for hours at a time on other days (on two different computers). I dont know enough about this subject to understand what the problem may be: could be Zyxel or it could be something else. Before I got the router the modem I used never dropped a connection.

Very pleased with the speed of delivery. Thank You!
Took a while to get all the wireless security features set up, but really a question of reading the manuals thoroughly as I have not done anything like this before. Wireless range is perfectly adequate.

Very stable and good router when wired but I had to downgrade firmware because newest one locked wireless connection. Everything works fine for while and then there is no response for like one minute. I had to downgrade firmware by one version and everything is fine. I hope Zyxel will release new firmware which will correct this. And then it will be perfect ! Just to say, it does not have as good coverage as Draytek but still very good ...

Decided to ditch my NetGear DG814 which had occasional problems keeping my 1Mb ADSL connection going (due to the distance from my house to the exchange - 4 to 5km away). After 3 days of constant ADSL drops with the NetGear I'd had enough and decided to replace it with the ZyXel. I'd read good reviews about the ZyXel for problem lines/distance from exchange problems so took a chance and ordered it.
What a great decision. 1st class service from BB buyer - kit arrived the day after I ordered. Setup was easy. I just connected all the kit up and used the ZyXel Zero Configuration screen - all I needed to do was enter my username/password from my ISP and the router figured out all the rest for me, no other configuration needed! I was up and running in 15mins with a solid connection - not a single drop of line so far. Awesome router. If you're after a reliable router keep this on your shortlist.

Good Router but......

Initially impresesed by this router, but have noticed a drop in speed when using with a Centrino laptop (of which I have two) - Fine when it's wired, or used with the enclosed card, and the bandwith sharing works fine as does the filtering.
Wireless range is much reduced compared to my Belkin (not MIMO) router, especially when not using a ZyXEL card.
In summary fine if you're wired or using ZyXEL cards and need the extra features.

This router is just perfect. I had high quality Draytek Vigor 2600WE but I decided to change it for something newer. I wanted wireless router with 802.11g support. I read positive reviews of this router and I decided to buy it instead US Robotics 9108. Zyxel is loaded with plenty of functions, really easy to use and setup. Biggest suprise was that it gave me about 60kb/s more download with my Bulldog 8mbit adsl comparing to Vigor 2600WE, high speed download (around 825kb) is stable without any drops, wireless is quick and stable as well. This one is really recommended. And BBB service was great, item arrived next day and well packed

Bought this bundle as an upgrade to my existing 11mbps Netgear wireless router.
Had my PC wired up and on the internet in under 5 minutes. Put the wireless cardbus card into one of my laptops and get a good 70% wireless strength from downstairs with the router upstairs underneath a desk.
The html config page is not very straightforward, so not recommended for novice users, but for the techies out there its ideal. Very flexible and huge amounts of options to tweak.
The unit is very compact and neat, not over fancy. Function over form.
Arrived next day, incredible service by BBB :) Well done.
Highly recommended, go get one. A true bargain.

Well, i have had this working for a few days now so i think it is safe to praise!
Arrived next day- thanks BBB!
The router was a breeze to set up and continues to provide a faultless wireless and wired connection it also seems to load web pages quicker than my last router!
What i like is that there is as much configuration as you want in a nice, simple layout. I find you can make many changes without having to reset as on some other routers.
If you want something that can be configured and reliable i for one think this is a great choice!

After months of suffering wireless drop-outs and random reboots with my Linksys WAG54G, I decided to replace the router with this ZyXEL 660HW model. And what a replacement is was. Setup was a breeze and after 10 minutes of unpacking it from the box, it was working with my existing Linksys USB and PC Card adapters with no problems. The wireless strength has improved; the Linksys router gave me 12Mbps, this router is consistently giving me around 48Mbps with no drop-outs or reboots. The only complaint I have about this router is that it doesn’t do port mapping, e.g. I wanted to map the incoming port 80 from the ‘net onto a machine on my network on port 8080 but I can live with that. The web admin interface isn’t too intuitive, but if you read the instructions you can’t go wrong. The telnet admin interface is pretty good though.
If you’ve experienced problems with other ‘all-in-one’ routers, give this one a go, you’ll be glad you did. Great service from broadbandbuyer too.

I am running 2 laptops off this router (plus a wired server), one using the G162 and the other using the built in intel 54g adaptor. I am getting very good throughputs on the G162 (about 35MB/s+), but the other pc only seems to acheive about 1MB/s - I wonder if it will only support one mode at a time efficiently?

Not a device for the non-technically inclined user - but
definitely a decent router for those who are able to sit
down and take the time to read the manual and grasp the
subtleties of how it all goes together.
The bandwidth management is brilliant, I was able to
upload multiple megs of photos while talking to a friend in
the US via my VoIP adapter. My prior router would cut into
the VoIP session, causing stutter and jitter in the
conversation - the ZyXEL's IP quality of service eliminated
this problem for me.
I haven't tested the wireless yet, but have no reason to
doubt that it will work. The multi-nat support will be a
boon for me when I get a block of 8 from my ISP. The
wealth of information generated by the syslog capability is
very good.
The only problem so far has been my not reading the
manual and the login session not expiring cleanly.
Otherwise, a good thumbs up - wicked device.
