Austin Taylor is a BT licensed manufacturer of the NTE5.
The NTE5 is fitted inside customer premises and provides a demarcation point between network and consumer wiring.

Using a removable lower cover, consumer extension wiring can be easily isolated from the telephone network facilitating easy fault location.

The NTE5 is supplied fully mastered i.e. full PSTN master.

The NTE5A is designed to terminate networks using heavy drop wire which is connected to two heavy duty screw terminals.

Extension telephone wiring is connected to iDC contacts housed in the lower consumer access cover and, on removal of the cover, can be easily isolated for test purposes.

Removing the consumer access cover also exposes the test socket which is used to determine whether a fault lise in the telephone or the customer wiring.

When the lower cover is replaced, gold plated contacts connect the customer wiring to the network.

The CTE5 is a variant of the NTE5 designed for use on networks using standard telephony wiring or siamese cables. The network wiring is connected to a 3 way IDC (NB: maximum conductor diameter 0.65mm)

IMPORTANT ADVICE

ADSL Microfilters enable broadband to be delivered to you on your standard telephone line. It allows you to surf the Internet, use e-mail and many other internet services whilst still using your telephone, answer machine, fax or any of other piece of telephony equipment that you have attached to your ADSL microfilter.

To ensure the quality of both the telephony and the ADSL every piece of telephony equipment must be fitted with an ADSL microfilter including telephones, fax machines and even Sky boxes. This does not mean that every piece of equipment must have an ADSL Microfilter, only that every telephone socket that has telephony equipment attached to it must have an ADSL Microfilter fitted first.
